First let me tell you, that I did not create the name "In His Image" However, it was the the Lords hands directing mine that caused "In His Image" to grow to what it is today. Sometime in th early 90's after moving to Lake Havasu City Arizona, My wife, Family and I began attending A spirit filled Assemblies of God church Abundant Grace. We fell in love with the church and the people allmost day 1. There was plenty to do in the church and many activities for our 3 children. The pastor of the church, Cal Swenson has a heart of gold and loves the lord, one of his burdends were shut-in's. One Family, the Schoffner's had taken up the sword and began making Pastor Cal messages available to the shut-in's of Lake Havasu City. They had takin up a few donation and recived a couple of video camera's (standard VHS) they had an old VHS recorder and had wired all the stuff to an up stairs room, with some 13" TV and splitters and created a small live video control room. The cameras were controlled by two camera men with walkie talkies and a selector switch. The camera work was good and the picture was fair. I need to take one step back or the rest wont make sence. Before attending Abundant Grace, we attended Lake View and was involved in the sound ministry for about 2 years. Our new Pastor knew our history. OK that takes care of that.Pastor Cal introduced us as "Dave and Michelle Gosse, and Dave knows how to run a sound board". He also introduced us to the Schoffner Family. Nancy Schoffner was the ring leader, she and her boys were working on the project and they are the ones that created the name "In His Image". Nancy and her boys were at burnout, they had been going non stop for several years. Nancy was glad to see someone else with a similar burden. We talked for about an hour, she took a step back and said "In His Image is yours if you want it" I smiled and told her I had to pray about it and that I did not want to step on anyones toes. She told me it would be a blessing to her for any help I could offer. My wife and I prayed and within a few days I had started getting phone calls about more donations to "In His Image", and asked what to do with them? I was a little confused I had not told anyone but my wife, that I felt the lord was moving us into the ministry. The next sundy Pastor Cal anounced that the Schoffners were moving into the youth ministry as the new youth pastors and that the Gosse family was taking over "In His Image". That was our second Sunday. Pastor Cal anounced that a portion of the offerings were going to be for a new part time ministry "In His Image" now had a budget and was being blessed daily. "In His Image" continued to grow and the blessing of God continued to shine on the Ministry. We recieved more and better equipment. We upgraded to three SVHS camera's and recording decks, a Videonics MX mixer and a title generator. We were in High Cotton. Wy wife began here carrer in Nursing homes, she is a Social Services Director. Every Sunday we had a one week tape delayed service at most of the nursing homes in Lake Havasu City. Lake Havasu City has a local Television Staion that broadcast on the local cable channel 45. The owner's mother was in one of the nursing homes and saw the tape one sunday. He made contact with me and asked if he could air our tape on sunday at 9:00 a.m. and every sunday after that. Tell me we don't server an AWSOME God. That was well over ten years ago, "In His Image Havasu" is still to this day broadcasting on TV 45 on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.Praise you Jesus, to God we give the glory.
God has given me a true burden to get his word to the his people, I am not a preacher. However, I am a teacher. I have and will at Gods direction preach or teach his word to ????. My full time vocation is Law Enforcement, in Arizona I was a member of the S.R.T. Team, our team motto was "Do whatever it takes" that has also become my lifes attitude. Kind of a short list but I can assure you if those three items are took care of everything and I mean EVERYTHING else will fall into place. OK back to the MinistryYou'll know something becomes meaningful when it goes from your head to your heart to your hands. God put the knowledge in my head, I took the idea to heart and God put my hands to work. I'll say it again Praise you Jesus, to God we give the glory. launched bringing the living gospel to the world Some pretty big goals, we serve a pretty big God.
After attending Dave Ramsey's Finacial Peace University I heard something that I thought was a very profound statement, "If you don't have any goals, your sure to meet them". So I will set my goals high and have the faith to complete them giving God the glory for the accomplishment. One last word Praise you Jesus, to God we give the glory. In Jesus Name, Amen |
